Hilton Promotes All-new Type Stay

A new extended stay hotel design by Hilton will be the first of its kind with plans to open early 2011 along Sunnybrook Road east of Interstate 55.

Hilton Hotels introduced the new hotel concept in January known as "Homes2 Suites" that will feature amenities such as an expanded living area, complimentary breakfast, a walking course, and sustainable design features.

Dr. Vishal Barot, a developer with New Vision Ventures, said that Ridgeland was a great fit for the hotel because of growth in the area and its proximity to Jackson.

"We like this area because we are also investors in Embassy Suites and we know the market pretty well," Barot said. "We feel that the new concept will be successful because there are so many businesses coming to Ridgeland." Barot said that the hotel will be located off Sunnybrook Road on the east side of I-55 next to Fitness Lady and will eventually be accessed by planned frontage roads adjacent to the interstate.

The four story hotel will contain 90 guest suites that will be designed specifically for extended stay business travel.

"Other hotels don't have the same facilities where the guest will be able to socialize and have several amenities that will provide them a chance to relax when they get back from work," he said.

Specifically these amenities include: � The "Oasis," an expanded living zone with a community table, individual work zones, a pantry, and laundry room.

� Complimentary continental breakfast, an exercise course, an indoor pool, and outdoor grilling space.

� An innovative guest room design that features a "working wall," a series of modular millwork pieces that serve as workspace and storage.

� A sustainable design with an EPA Water Sense plumbing fixtures, dual-flush toilets, and recycled flooring.

Barot's company submitted a franchise application and was selected out of 30 competitors to execute the new design concept in Ridgeland.

According to a press release from Hilton Hotels, "Home2 Suites" forecast 100 properties opening by 2012 with 60 to 70 per year thereafter.

The development has yet to receive approval from the city of Ridgeland and is expected to begin site plan and architectural review soon.
