Nation's Top Air Duct Cleaning Franchise Receives Habitat Hero Award

For more than one year, DUCTZ, the nation's premiere air duct, carpet and upholstery cleaning franchise, has actively partnered with Habitat for Humanity locations in Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan to clean air ducts inside of Habitat homes. Thanks to this partnership, DUCTZ has been honored with the second-ever Habitat Hero Award.

The Habitat Hero Award was created by Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley in Ann Arbor, MI as a way to honor those who have supported the organization, as well as helped further their mission. DUCTZ received the award for the work done with Habitat for Humanity since March 2009, by both the DUCTZ of Southeast Michigan, as well as the numerous DUCTZ franchise training classes that have passed through the DUCTZ International training facilities in Ann Arbor. Since the partnership began, DUCTZ has cleaned the air duct systems in more than 15 Habitat homes in Southeast Michigan as part of the franchise system's real-world training.

"DUCTZ has gone above and beyond, which is why they were an ideal choice for the Habitat Hero Award," said Theresa Finney Dumais, Development Director for Habitat for Humanity in Ann Arbor. "The work DUCTZ does is extremely valuable to not only us, but to the families who occupy our homes, and we cannot thank them enough for their dedication and hard work." Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley has been rehabilitating existing homes for Habitat families for more than a year, instead of building new homes. The air duct cleaning services offered by DUCTZ greatly improves the rehabilitated home's overall indoor environment. These cleanings help to rid the air of dust, indoor mold and mycotoxins, which can greatly impact the respiratory health of those who are breathing in these harmful particles. If left untreated, these toxins can create a variety of respiratory and health problems, including chronic asthma, allergies, respiratory inflammation and other serious lung illnesses. "Air duct cleaning is imperative for anyone who wants to have a clean, healthy indoor environment, and for some, it is not something they can afford," said John Rotche, President of BELFOR Franchise Group, which includes the DUCTZ brand. "We have instilled the idea of giving back to the communities that support us as part of the DUCTZ corporate culture, and donating our services to Habitat for Humanity is a great way to aid those who need air duct cleaning, but currently may be unable to afford such services." DUCTZ is the nation's premier air duct, carpet and upholstery cleaning franchise. DUCTZ works with home and business owners to improve indoor air quality from the ground up. As a member of the National Air Duct Cleaner's Association (NADCA), Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (ACCA), DUCTZ leads industry standards while providing microbial maintenance controls and chemical-free processes for reducing biological contaminants.
