Contests were held in six regions across the U.S.: * Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas * Delaware Valley (Philadelphia), Pennsylvania * Hampton Roads (Norfolk and Virginia Beach), Virginia * New Jersey * Springfield, Missouri * Tucson, Arizona To view photos of the winning houses, go to: www.TheUgliestHouse.com Commenting on the contest results, David Hicks, co-president of HomeVestors of America, said: "We're proud to sponsor a contest that celebrates ugliness, recognizing that even the ugliest house in town has the potential to be transformed into a lovely home." He added: "If you're the owner of an ugly house and have any doubt about whether someone wants to buy it, call HomeVestors at 1-800-442-8937." The 2010 "Ugliest House" contest was open to the public, who could vote after viewing photos and property descriptions on the HomeVestors website. Nominees were selected from a call-for-entries held in March, when local real estate investors were invited to submit the ugliest houses they had bought at any time between March 1, 2009 and February 28, 2010. Most of the houses nominated have since been rehabbed and transformed into lovely homes, with some sold on the retail market and others maintained as rental properties.
