The new Denver operation is the 10th and largest franchise that HomeSmart has launched across six states this year since it began a nationwide franchising crusade. It now operates in Arizona, Colorado, California, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
By year's end, HomeSmart plans to open additional franchises in Nevada and New Mexico. It also plans to eventually operate in every major metropolitan area, company representatives said.
As for the new Denver franchise, that operation was formerly known as Home Real Estate, but now goes by HomeSmart Realty Group, which includes three additional offices within the metro Denver area.
Denver franchise owner Brad Smith said the decision to team up with Phoenix-based HomeSmart was a strategy to "take his business to the next level," the statement said.
"Following an extensive international search to provide our agents with the right tools, technology and support systems they need, we are proud to say our partnership in franchising with HomeSmart International delivers just that and more to our agents," Smith said in the statement.
HomeSmart franchise owners use a proprietary software system, which was the brainchild of the firm's Founder and Chairman Matt Widdows, that is designed to save big on costs associated with web hosting, lead generation and back-office systems. The software is free to franchise owners, which allows their agents to keep 100 percent of their commissions.
HomeSmart has 12 corporate-owned offices in Arizona and one in Palm Springs, Calif. It also has a location in Beijing per a license agreement. The firm was founded in 2000 and has since expanded its network to include more than 6,600 agents.
